JCIA holds business study workshops with the aim of contributing to facilitation of the cooperative insurance business by helping executives and regular employees of the member societies understand the latest domestic and international issues, in which the member societies are highly interested and which are likely to have an impact on their cooperative insurance operations.
The second business study workshop for fiscal 2013 was held as follows,

- Theme: Update on the International Insurance Supervision
- Lecturer: Yoshihiro Kawai, Secretary General, IAIS

Following the last year, Mr. Kawai gave a lecture on the latest trends of the International Insurance Supervision such as G-SIIs (Global Systematically Important Insurers), ComFrame (Common Framework for the Supervision of Internationally Active Insurance Groups) and International Insurance Capital Regulation, as touching on the background.

As many as 54 people participated in the workshop mainly from a wide range of departments of member societies of the JCIA such as a management planning, administration, risk management, financial affairs, legal affairs, product development.
